Pharmaceutical Breakthrough

Pharmaceutical and biotech companies have made huge advances recently in the fight against cancer. The Daily Mail has published a heart-warming article highlighting the huge effect that a new class of drugs called Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs) drugs can have on people.

A British man suffering from a rare form of lymphoma was given only weeks to live after scans showed that his body was riddled with more than 70 individual tumours. However he managed to turn this around after trying out new US drug Brentuximab Vedotin. Ian Brooks, 47, was the first person outside the US to be offered Brentuximab Vedotin  ADC as part of a clinical trial. After only 12 weeks all tumours had been eradicated and he is now in remission. .
