The Business Development Manager contributes to developing Symbiosis’ mutually beneficial relationships by:
Identifying new sales leads and closing existing opportunities to subsequently grow profitable sales revenues for Symbiosis and our customers.
Translating the existing Symbiosis business development strategy into a sales plan on an international basis.
Qualifications
Essential
Educated to degree level in Life Science or related field.
KNOWLEDGE
Essential
Knowledge of the biotechnology/biopharmaceutical industry and how a CMO operates.
Desirable
Knowledge of fill-finish services
Understanding of the complexities of sterile GMP manufacture
EXPERIENCE
Essential
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a sales environment in Life Science or related field.
Desirable
Experience selling internationally.

Desire to meet budgeted expectations on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Ability to identify new sales leads and effectively progress through the sales pipeline.
Ability to close sales opportunities.
Strong commercial understanding and costing/pricing experience

Develop and negotiate sales agreements
Negotiate and close sales contracts

Knowledge of the biotechnology/biopharmaceutical industry with strong client orientation, knowledge, and awareness, sharing this across the organisation
Skilled at identifying, qualifying, and converting sales leads for Symbiosis’ key services
Managing Organisational Relationships
Attend, participate and contribute to regular staff and management meetings, as necessary.
Invest in developing relationships with all staff to fully understand how I can best develop their knowledge of clients.
Invest in developing relationships with the management team to ensure a high-performing Business Development team and Symbiosis’ services meet expectations.
Act as an ambassador for the company.
